The following document outlines both the responsibilities of the customer and the limits of liability for Taedong Tours.
We at Taedong Tours look forward to the opportunity to serve as your trusted tour operator. The terms below set forth your obligations as a customer when booking either a group or independent tour with us.
Tour Confirmation and Payment
- All tours must be confirmed with a deposit to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due by the deadline specified in your booking confirmation.
- Payment for tours may be made in various currencies, but the final amount will be calculated in US Dollars based on the prevailing exchange rate listed on XE.com at the time of payment.
- All payment transactions are handled securely, and you will receive confirmation once the payment has been processed.
Visa Applications
DPRK Visas
All DPRK visas for our tours are handled exclusively by Taedong Tours. If you have provided accurate and truthful information and your DPRK visa is refused, we will issue a full refund of any payments made to us, minus any transaction fees and processing costs. However, we cannot accept responsibility for any expenses you incur in traveling to or from the tour departure location.
Chinese Visas
It is the traveler's responsibility to obtain a valid multiple-entry Chinese visa if required by their nationality. Single-entry visas are not sufficient for DPRK tours, as travelers must enter China before the tour begins and re-enter after returning from Korea. Guests from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan must ensure they have a valid Mainland Travel Permit (回鄉證/台胞證).
If you plan to enter and exit China using a transit visa, you bear full responsibility for ensuring that your travel arrangements comply with current regulations. While we are happy to assist if issues arise with Chinese transit visas, we cannot be held liable for any costs you incur in the event of problems with your entry or exit.
Please be aware that final entry approval under a transit visa lies solely with Chinese immigration officials at the point of entry. We strongly recommend that you obtain a double-entry Chinese visa in advance to avoid uncertainty. If you choose to rely on a transit visa, we advise arriving in Beijing the day before your DPRK tour to ensure your DPRK visa is collected in time and to provide buffer time for any potential delays at immigration.
Cancellation Policy
If you choose to cancel your tour, refunds will be issued according to the guidelines outlined in the table below, minus any non-refundable costs already incurred at the time of cancellation, if applicable:
Days before tour departure | Amount refunded |
|---|---|
0-14 | 0% |
15-30 | 40% |
31-45 | 60% |
46+ | 100% |
For DPRK tours, in the rare event that your DPRK visa is denied or the tour is canceled by our local partners, you will receive a full refund.
For other destinations, the cancellation policy may vary due to advanced booking requirements for flights, services, or other logistical arrangements. In such cases, any costs already incurred by local partners will be deducted from your deposit, and Taedong Tours will charge a handling fee of $100.
We recommend that all customers purchase travel insurance when booking to protect against unforeseen circumstances. Travel insurance is required for trips to the DPRK.
Tour Modifications
While Taedong Tours makes every effort to ensure that the advertised itinerary is followed, we reserve the right to modify the tour itinerary. Any changes will be communicated promptly.
If there is a significant change to the tour that impacts the experience, we will work with you to find a suitable alternative or provide a refund.
Tour Operation
Taedong Tours works with trusted local partners to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. However, we cannot be held responsible for events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political instability, or unforeseen disruptions. Should a tour be canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full refund of any monies paid.
Liability and Responsibilities
Taedong Tours and its partners are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients. However, all participants must comply with the local laws and regulations of the countries visited, as well as the instructions and guidelines provided by Taedong Tours, its guides, and local partners.
By participating in a tour, you acknowledge that you are fully responsible for your personal belongings and for your own safety throughout the trip.
Taedong Tours reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse service to, decline to book, or remove from a tour any individual who is deemed unfit to participate or who may pose a risk to themselves, other participants, tour staff, local partners, or the overall integrity and safety of the tour. This determination may be based on, but is not limited to, an individual’s communications with Taedong Tours, prior conduct, failure to follow instructions, non-compliance with applicable laws or tour guidelines, or any behavior indicating a heightened risk of endangerment or disruption.
If a participant fails to comply with the rules set forth by Taedong Tours, tour guides, or local authorities, Taedong Tours reserves the right to remove the participant from the tour at any time. In such cases, no refund will be issued, and any additional costs incurred as a result of refusal of participation or removal from the tour shall be the sole responsibility of the participant.
Force Majeure
Taedong Tours shall not be held liable for any failure to perform obligations under this agreement due to circumstances beyond our control, including, but not limited to, acts of nature, war, political unrest, strikes, or any other event classified as "force majeure."

Taedong Tours reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the customer in a timely manner.
