Indoor Section

Open year-round, the indoor section of the water park is the heart of the facility, offering something for everyone rain or shine. The main hall features a variety of heated pools, from shallow kid-friendly areas with water play features to hydrotherapy pools equipped with massage jets. Wave machines create gentle swells at scheduled intervals, and a designated lane pool allows space for fitness swimmers. Two full-sized indoor slides wind through the building, providing fun for both older kids and adults. There's also an observation deck overlooking the pool area where guests can lounge and watch the action below. Tucked just off the pool zone is a traditional Korean-style sauna, with separate areas for men and women, as well as a mixed-gender steam room where swimsuits are required. These areas offer a welcome contrast to the excitement of the slides, inviting guests to relax in the warmth and quiet.

Beyond the water, the park includes a full suite of fitness and leisure facilities. There’s a modern gym and several fitness studios, alongside a massage parlor offering everything from full-body treatments to foot rubs. For those who prefer more active but dry fun, the complex features volleyball and basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, trampolines, and even a two-lane bowling alley on the upper level. The second floor is also home to a small juice bar and coffee shop, where guests can recharge with light refreshments, as well as a casual dining area serving simple meals. A unisex hair salon and barbershop are located upstairs too, offering affordable cuts or quick blow-dries. Swimwear, towels, and basic toiletries can be rented on-site, and there's a shop near the entrance stocked with water gear, snacks, and other essentials—handy if you've forgotten anything or want a small souvenir before heading out.

What to Expect During a Visit

Munsu Water Park is included in several of our longer Pyongyang itineraries, and it can also be added to private tours upon request. Visitors are welcome to bring their own swimwear, slippers, and toiletries, although rental gear is also available. A standard rental set typically includes a swimsuit, towel, and basic soap. Women may wear bikinis, though local women tend to wear one-piece suits. Lockers and changing rooms are provided on-site, and the facility is clean, well-maintained, and comfortable.

Depending on your interests, you might spend just an hour strolling through and observing, or stay for most of the day enjoying the pools, slides, and wellness areas. If you're curious about the layout, you can request a tour of the facilities at reception before going in. On weekends and national holidays, the park is usually busy with local families, students on break, and soldiers on leave; for a quieter experience, visiting on a weekday is recommended.

Photography is permitted inside the park, but it's best to avoid photographing locals up close, especially while they're in swimwear. A waterproof pouch for your phone can be useful if you plan to take pictures around the pools. It's also a good idea to bring some small denomination bills for drinks and snacks, particularly if the outdoor zone is open during the summer.
